How to Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with Jellybean 4.1 Firmware Update


Procedure to Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with Jellybean 4.1 Firmware:

  • Download the Jellybean 4.1 Firmware Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded connect your Galaxy S GT I9000 with the computer and place the downloaded zip package in your device’s SD Card.
  • Once the file is copied, just disconnect the device and turn off so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Galaxy S can be entered in the recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. If the device boots up in the normal mode, then try again the above process to get your Galaxy S in recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now with the help of Volume rocker keys so that all the cache data will be wiped Off completely.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Jellybean 4.1 firmware package and then select “Yes” with the help of Volume rocker keys and Menu button.   • In recovery mode, select “Go Back” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for starting the device in the normal mode. It will take more time than expected for starting up the device.  Don’t interrupt the device from starting it up or else the firmware upgrade process will be interrupted.
Note: Just in case if the device doesn’t boot up or say gets into the boot loop sequence, you need to long press the power button or reinsert the battery to turn off the device and retry the whole process from start.
